List of cashback sites in the UK:

I have been using cashback websites for around a year now and I have made well over £1,000 just by making the purchases I would have made anyway. You can’t afford not to do it.

What is Cashback?

Cashback is a guaranteed, foolproof way of making extra money online.

Cashback sites are designed to make money (commission) from users like you and I by referring us to retailers websites to make purchases, and the idea is that this commission is then passed on, or shared, with us as cashback. Amount of cashback varies for each retailer.

How Does Cashback Work?

Cashback sites like TopCashback and Quidco get paid a commission by online retailers like Curry’s, Argos, Amazon and thousands of others, for each sale generated via the links on their website. That commission is then passed on to you by the cashback website.

Many people think cashback costs them something, or that they’re losing out in some way, when it actually costs absolutely nothing at all. In fact, cashback actually makes you money.

Here’s the usual process:

  • Need to buy a product or service
  • Shop around for the best price
  • Check cashback sites for the best rates
  • Earn cashback on your purchases

The Best Cashback Sites

Although there are many cashback sites out there for you to use, many of them are not worth your time or effort. I have tried them all so that you don’t have to, saving you time.

I do recommend that instead of choosing just one of the cashback websites below to use, that you use all of them together because at any given time one cashback site will usually be offering a higher cashback amount than another so it pays to compare and spread your purchases.

1. TopCashback

TopCashback is the highest paying cashback site around and also my personal favourite.

TopCashback feature more retailers than any other cashback site, Quidco included, over 5,300 actually. They also offer a higher rate of cashback than any other cashback site for over 90% of the retailers on their website with bonuses of up to 5% for their premium members.

If you find a higher cashback rate on any other UK cashback site, TopCashback guarantee that they will not only match, but will beat the higher cashback rate offered elsewhere.

TopCashback Features:

  • Over 5,300 online retailers to earn cashback with
  • Cashback notifier extension for Firefox, Chrome and Safari
  • Earn up to £7.50 for referring your friends
  • Best Cashback Rate Guarantee
  • Plus Membership for £5 a year (worth it)

TopCashback is free to use. Get the TopCashback App for iPhones and Android devices.

Make £20 Today on TopCashback for FREE

I have put together a list of retailers below that will help you to make over £20 instantly, today, on TopCashback, without spending a single penny. Well, maybe 99 pence for one of them.

There you have it, even after spending 99 pence on the free Readly trial you will still make at least £20. Simple enough, right? Just make sure you cancel the Readly trial at the end of the month, unless you wish to keep it. Set a reminder on your phone so you don’t forget.

NOTE: Cashback rates in the table above are based on premium account rates. Premium TopCashback members pay £5 a year for higher rates and other benefits.

2. Quidco

Quidco is my second favourite cashback site, and the one I use alongside TopCashback to make sure that I am always getting the best cashback rate for every retailer I shop with.

Quidco is free to use. Get the Quidco App for iPhones and Android devices.

Make £50 Today on Quidco for FREE

I have put together a list of retailers below that will help you to make over £20 instantly, today, on Quidco, without spending a single penny. Well, maybe £5 for one of them.

[table id=3 /]

Spending £5 with Gala Bingo for a £45 return isn’t too shabby, right? You can always skip that and still make £7 completely free with Quidco if you’d prefer. It’s entirely your choice!

How Much Can You Make with Cashback Sites?

How much money you make, or save, with cashback websites depends entirely on how often you shop online (as you’d imagine), but both TopCashback and Quidco claim that, on average, their members make around £300 per year. Not bad really, is it? That’s free cash.

You can also make money by referring your friends and family to cashback sites. TopCashback pay you £7.50 and Quidco pay you £5.00 for each friend referred. It pays to help others.

Personally, I made over £1,000 in my first year using cashback sites.

It Pays to Use Multiple Cashback Sites

It may seem like a good idea to stick with one cashback site to focus your efforts and make the most amount of cashback, but trust me that’s the wrong thing to do.

Both TopCashback and Quidco regularly alter their cashback rates as well as often being given exclusive rates by retailers which means it pays to compare retailers on both sites before making a purchase. For example, at the time of writing, EE Home Broadband is offering up to £140 cashback on Quidco, and just £110 on TopCashback. See what I mean?

Another example, where this time TopCashback come out on top is with ASOS who are offering a cashback rate of up to 10% on TopCashback verses a rate of just 8% on Quidco.

Earn More Cashback with Gift Vouchers & Gift Cards

Most cashback websites, TopCashback and Quidco included, provide the option to withdraw your cashback via gift cards and gift vouchers with an additional bonus, or top-up of your cashback amount. I personally withdraw mine onto Starbucks gift cards.

For example, if you have £50 of earned cashback to withdraw, you could withdraw it via bank transfer or PayPal, or alternatively you could withdraw it via a gift card like Love2Shop, or with a gift voucher for Argos, Amazon, Tesco, Primark or Pizza Hut among many others with up to 25% added on top, so your actual cashback amount could become as much as £62.50 by simply withdrawing it onto a gift card or gift voucher. It’s definitely worth considering.

Cashback Frequently Asked Questions

People often have a lot of questions to ask about cashback because it is quite a strange industry. Humans naturally think there’s something wrong when something is for free, right? So below I have listed the most common questions I have seen asked about cashback online.

Do you pay tax on cashback?

No – cashback is considered a delayed saving so there is no need to pay tax on it.

Can you get cashback on the high street?

Yes – both TopCashback and Quidco enable you to earn store cashback on the high street. You simply register your debit or credit card and shop as normal in the stores available.

Can you use voucher codes with cashback websites?

Sometimes – but usually only if the cashback website you are using offers the code to you. It’s usually listed on the retailer page on their website. If in doubt, do not use one as it will stop you from earning the biggest cashback on your purchases.
